Capitan Release Notes - June 19

Challenges are now live in Capitan!

Challenges are a way to incentivize set groups of customers to check-in more frequently at your organization with gamification. Prizes can range depending on the challenge from stickers, to discounts to t-shirts.  Under Admin / Challenges, each challenge can be configured with the following options:

  • Description: Use this space to describe the challenge requirements and prizes.
  • Details (optional): Use this space to add any clarifying information for your challenge, such as eligibility and terms.
  • Required Number of Check-ins: The customer must check in this many times in the designated time frame in order to complete the challenge.
  • Availability - Start/End Dates (optional): If provided, these dates limit when customers can be added to this challenge.
  • Automatically add customers to challenge: Configure whether new customers created during challenge availability and/or customers who check in during challenge availability are automatically added to the challenge. Customers can also be manually added to challenges from their customer profile and via a bulk action.
  • Duration (optional): The challenge may either be configured with a fixed date range for all customers, or with a duration in days (in which case customers will have a certain number of days to complete the challenge, starting when they are added to the challenge). This may be left blank in order to set up a lifetime challenge.
On the Staff Site you can view the challenges a customer is currently part of and add them to challenges on the right side of their profile.
In the Climber App a customer will be able to see their progress for each challenge.

When a customer completes a Challenge, a different sound will go off at check-in (configured under Admin / Check-in Sounds) to alert staff the customer is due for their prize. An alert will remain on the customer's account that the challenge has been completed until a staff member marks that the customer has received their prize.

Examples of how this feature can help:
  • Help new customers build the habit of checking into your facility frequently to become lifelong members.
  • Incentivize customers to check-in to your facility in times of year that are less typically less busy for your organization (ie a Summer Challenge)
  • Reward customers that are loyal to your organization for monumental check-in counts (ie 100th visit).
