Capitan Release Notes - November 23

Gift cards sold in your retail management platform can now be used for purchases directly on Capitan!

To make it easier to sell and redeem gift cards this holiday season, Capitan now supports the use of gift cards sold on your POS (Vend or Square).

Under Admin / Organization Settings, under Climber App settings there is a new option to allow POS gift cards to be used for Capitan purchases. When select selected, customers may use POS gift cards to make purchases in the Climber App and all existing gift cards can be used on Capitan immediately.

If a customer uses a gift card on Capitan, the balance will be updated automatically. Your POS will be responsible for creating and managing gift cards and only gift cards with a remaining balance can be used on Capitan.

Holiday Sales Reminder

As we all enter the busiest time of year for holiday sales, don't forget you can configure Membership, Entry Pass and Event discounts!

When configuring a discount, you have the following configuration options:

  • Discount Type: Code or Automatic. If this is set to "Code", then the customer must enter the discount code in order to use the discount. If this is set to "Automatic", then the discount will automatically be applied to any qualifying purchases.
  • Discount Value: Flat Amount or Percentage. This makes it easy to customize your offers.
  • Availability (optional): If provided, these dates limit when customers can use this discount. This makes it easy to offer time limited sales.
  • Membership Type, Entry Pass Type or Event Type selections: Only select the items you want the discount to be applied towards.
