Capitan Release Notes - April 2, 2024
The Event Catalog makes it easier for your customers to see all event offerings at your organization in one place.
The Event Catalog is now live!
Capitan is in the midst of updating key parts of the Climber App to make it easier for your customers to find events, memberships and entry passes. The first update to the Climber App (with many more coming throughout Q2) is the Event Catalog. The Event Catalog is a listing of all of your organization's event categories with each Event Type and its description underneath.
To access the Event Catalog from the Staff Site, on your Event Categories page you can select the "View Catalog" button. When you select an event category in the Event Catalog, the URL will update to a sharable link specific to that event category.
Thank you to everyone that provided feedback to the new Climber App designs; you will see more of your feedback included in the coming releases.
You can change the order of your Event Categories.
On the Event Categories page, you can now change the order of your organization's categories. This will make it easier to find your most used categories on the Staff Site, and for customers to quickly find the more popular events in the Climber App.
Booking capacity and waitlist filters were added to the Event Calendar to make it easier to manage events at the front desk.
When on the Staff Site calendar, you can now filter the calendar by Booked Capacity and Waitlist status. This will make it easier for the front desk and event managers to answer questions like "when is the next lead course with availability?" and "which events next week still have active waitlists and may need extra staff to increase the event capacity?".
The new Duplicate Occurrence By Interval option makes it faster and easier to add multi-part events at your organization.
When duplicating an event, there is a "Repeat Type" field. The default Repeat Type is "Selected Dates". This allows you to hand pick the start dates of your duplicate occurrences (this was the only option prior to the new update).
The new option, "Interval", allows you to select a date range and interval for how often you want the occurrence to be duplicated (Weekly or Monthly). The "Monthly" option allows the occurrences to be created starting on certain weekdays of the month. For example, if the selected first start date is the second Wednesday of the month, and the repetition is set to "Monthly", new occurrences will start on the second Wednesday of each month until the selected last start date is reached.
Two examples of how this can be used:
- Weekly Interval: If you offer a five day summer camp each week over the summer, you can create an initial occurrence for the first week, then duplicate it from June to August. Using the weekly interval option, Capitan will automatically create an occurrence for each week of summer camp in the chosen date range.
- Monthly Interval: If you offer a multi week class like Intro to Top Rope for four Mondays in a row, you can set the date range from now until the end of the year. Using the monthly interval option, Capitan will automatically create an occurrence for each month, with event parts on the first four Mondays of each month.
For multi-location organizations, you can duplicate occurrences across locations for easier management.
When duplicating an occurrence, there is now a drop down to pick the location where you would like the new occurrences to be added. By default, it will be the same location as the occurrence which you are duplicating.
