Capitan Release Notes - September 17, 2025
Upfront Recurring Membership Payment Options
For recurring memberships (and memberships tied to rolling events), you can now give customers the option to pay upfront for a predetermined number of periods.
If upfront payment options are configured, when a customer is purchasing a recurring membership, they will see the upfront options along with their associated discounts.
This will incentivize some customers to pay upfront for additional months (in exchange for a discount), while retaining the customer as a recurring member after the upfront period has concluded.
For rolling youth programs, this can give parents the option to pay upfront for the entire season/program.
These options can be configured under the pricing section of the membership.
Currently, upfront payment can only be offered to new recurring members.

Benefit Membership
A new style of Membership may now be created: the Benefit Membership (under Purchase Type options). A benefit membership may not be purchased directly, but can be configured as a benefit. For example, an event may be configured to grant a benefit membership for the duration of the event.
Benefit memberships can be configured with the following:
- Guest passes (new customers only and all customers)
- Booking vouchers
- Entry restrictions (locations & times)
- Retail customer groups
A benefit membership can be applied to a multi-part/one-off event occurrence. When applied, any participants will receive the benefit membership from the first day of the occurrence to the last day. For example, if you have an eight week youth program where participants should receive a membership for the duration of the program, you can apply a benefit membership to the occurrence. You can also use this for shorter-term events such as competitions where you want registered participants to have entry into the gym throughout the competition.
