Gift Center Management

Setting up the Gift Center
Your organization's Gift Center is managed in the Admin section of Capitan. Use the Gift Center to determine which memberships and entry passes may be gifted, and what policies apply to each giftable product. When gifting a product, the customer provides a recipient's email address, and Capitan delivers the gift on the selected date. Upon redeeming the gift, the recipient will be prompted to create an account in Capitan if they do not have one already.
Options you have when configuring a giftable product:
- Which products can be gifted (prepaid memberships and entry passes)?
- How far in advance can a customer schedule the delivery date?
- Once delivered, how many days does the gift recipient have to redeem the gift?
- Terms and Conditions (for the gift giver)
- Terms and Conditions (for the gift recipient)
Sending a Gift
When a product is giftable, there will be a new option when purchasing the product, "For Someone as a Gift", which will prompt the customer to enter the recipient details. All giftable products can also be viewed in the Gift Center section of the Climber App. This link can be shared on social media, email campaigns etc. when you want to promote gifting.
To send a gift, the customer will only need the recipient's name and email!
Note, the recipient does not need to have an account at your organization to receive the gift and the email does not have to be the one they use when creating an account (for example, a company could send a day pass as a gift to employee to their work email, but the recipient could still use their personal email when creating their account at the climbing gym).
When the gift is sent, the recipient will receive an email (example below) with the gift, personal message and redemption code which they can use to redeem online or in person.
